Hyderabad airport is world's 3rd best

A feather in Hyderabad airport's cap. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad has been rated one of the world's top five airports in terms of airport service quality (ASQ) by the Airport Council International, a world body that conducted the survey .The Rajiv Gandhi International airport has been judged the third best airport in the world in service quality in the 5 t0 15 million passengers per annum category.

The airport that is run by the GMR group has been ranked by Airports Council International (ACI) ahead of global contenders like Abu Dhabi, Adelaide, Geneva, Cape Town, Hamburg and London Luton Airports.

The other top awards in the worldwide category go to Seoul Incheon International Airport, Singapore Changi Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Beijing Capital International Airport, and Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport,'' ACI director general Angela Gittens said.

Ten factors identified as essential for high customer service ratings are, by order of importance: the ambience of the airport, cleanliness of the terminal, comfort of the waiting areas, availability of washrooms, cleanliness of washrooms, courtesy and helpfulness of the airport staff, business lounges, ease of making connections, passport / ID inspection experience and good shopping facilities.
